Requirements
This program is compiled for 32-bit and 64-bit Intel x86
compatible computers running the Microsoft Windows operating system (below.)
Windows expertices: To download, install, and setup this application; you
will need to be more than the average Windows user. The application will require
that you download and install data files into several different data folders the
names and locations of which you define. The application provides help topics on
this subject for each data folder.
- The ability to create folders for the program's ENC, Image, Coastline, and User data.
- The computer should have at least 4-Gigabytes of fast random access memory
(RAM.) On 64-bit machines, the computer should have 6 Gigabytes or more of RAM.
the setup program will install a 64-bit version of the MarinePlotter that can access more than 4 Gigabytes of RAM.
On a 32-bit machine, the setup program will install a 32-bit version of the MarinePlotter that can access 2 to 3 Gigabytes of RAM.

- At least Microsoft .NET Framework 4 (48.1 MB.)
If your computer has a later version (4.1, . . ., 4.5), you should not need to download version 4.
In the Windows Control Panel, check the Programs and Feature list for the installed .Net Framework versions.

- Mariner's Cruising Guides (MCG) samples.
- Nautical Chart Image Tiles (NCI) samples.
- AIS receiver to USB data source with NMEA formatted data.
- GPS receiver to USB data source with NMEA formatted data.
- Internet connection to download GoogleMaps tiles for use off-line for safety at sea.
The permanent data storage space required will depend upon the number of charts and/or satellite images you need to keep available. The space required can range from a few mega-bytes to several giga-bytes.
If desired, you can place these files on an external USB hard drive. When using
an external hard drive, it is recommended that you use the new high speed drives
designed for the new high speed USB3 ports.
Alternative, for really fast chart displays, copy the chart data and tile cache to an internal Solid State Drive (SSD).
